We knew it was coming, but many of us were still shocked because it attacked like a thief in the night.

Rodolfo Vera Quizon Sr., more popularly known as Dolphy, passed away last night, July 10, at 8:34pm due to complications brought about by his pneumonia, which he has been battling over the years. He was 83. He now lies in estate using the coffin which he bought years ago.

The whole nation grieves for the loss of a national treasure.

Known as the Philippines' Comedy King, he had a very colorful showbiz career which started in the 1950s, starting off as extras in movies, and eventually making a name for himself in the showbiz industry. His brand of comedy transcended social barriers and generations, and has became a household name since then.

On a personal note, Mang Dolphy has been a part of my childhood via his hit sitcom 'Home Along Da Riles'. Airing on ABSCBN every Thursday night, I make sure to always watch it after doing my assignment (I was in elementary back then) because of Mang Dolphy's unique brand of slapstick humor. Laughter always filled the air whenever I get to watch him on TV or movies. His playful demeanor made me appreciate life more.

I will miss you, Mang Dolphy. You have touched the lives of so many people. Thank you for making my childhood a happy one. May your soul find repose in the arms of our loving Father.

Heaven is now a happier place.
- Eric Quizon, Dolphy's son

Frustrated

I really hate the fact that I cannot retrieve my old photos from the now-defunct Friendster anymore.

I mean, a lot of people were also complaining about lost memoirs and stuff. What the hell.

With all this reminiscing stuff about my bestfriend, I couldn't even set the mood 'cause I had no repository of our old pictures together.

I was planning to re-upload them on Facebook for some nostalgic effect.

I clearly remember that I made a back-up of those pictures through a software last year, and now, I couldn't find it. T______T

I really wish I can still retrieve those photos~ including those pictures of my college escapades from 2005. :(

Uncertainty

One lazy Saturday afternoon, one of my guy best friends texted me: Bez, let's drink.

I was kinda hesitant at first because I don't like to get up from my slumber~ but in the end, I said yes because I haven't seen him for like, one year. Might as well catch up with him.

I don't know if I made the wrong decision when I decided to spend the weekend with him.

Back story: We met four years ago at the church~ He was from a different organization and we became team mates in the sports fest that year. After that sports fest, we became friends, and yeah, as expected, I fell for him. Hard. I was actually pathetic that time because he was a lazy, jobless, guy. He was also a reckless playboy.  But I saw something good beyond that. I even confessed in front him when I was drunk~ and I ended up being dumped. I was used to being rejected, nonetheless.

Since we were in the same circle of friends, it was really awkward. Then as if by divine providence, the guy who dumped me became my best friend (Actually one of my few guy best friends~). He would rant to me about the girls he met, tell me childhood stories, share his dreams, and I eventually became his shock absorber and shoulder to lean on whenever he's dumped or whenever he got scolded at home. It was difficult for me, 'cause I had feelings for him, but I tried brushing them aside to save our friendship. Seeing him everyday and doing nice things to me and to our other friends makes my heart shattered 'cause he is killing me with too much sweetness and kindness. I think he really has his way around girls~ and gays too.

Caveat: His girlfriends get jealous whenever I'm introduced as his best friend. -_-

When I was still a university student, we would meet everyday, play computer games, eat food, drink, sing (he is the vocalist of his band), and virtually, talk about anything under the sun. People at the church thought we were a real couple with all the stuff-sharing that we do. I am close to his family, and he sometimes dragged me along when they have family-related events. After getting a job, we didn't meet often anymore. He would still text, but on very rare occasions. I never forgot his birthday though, because it's the same day as TVXQ's anniversary.

He was the exact opposite of my ideal guy.
He was a bit irresponsible, childish, and dependent.
He's not the type whom you can be proud of nor someone whom you can brag to your family and friends.

So to cut the long story short~ We didn't see each other again until he texted me that day. I eventually moved on from my ill-fated feelings for him.

The catch: He admitted two years ago that he likes me.

---------------------------

It was really good seeing him again. He was still the happy-go-lucky, carefree, outgoing, lazy guy that I knew. His band mates were even there~ and we all had a great time .

God knows what happened when we got drunk that night, and now I am confused whether my feelings for him came back.

I've made a deal with myself: If he fixes his life, graduates, gets a job, and learns how to face responsibility, I might reconsider my feelings for him.

I actually had this knack for remembering my dreams for two reasons~ either because they're too SCARY, or too GIDDY.

When I say scary, it's about death and being chased by spirits and other unearthly and ungodly creatures. The giddy ones are those involving my favorite celebrities.

And speaking of celebrities, my favorite group, TVXQ, had a fair share in my own set of dreams. I've dreamed of them so many times. and most of them have some hidden OT5 messages in it. Three of the members of TVXQ's been undergoing some legal shit with their previous company, and since then, the difficult life of supporting two groups (JYJ and TVXQ2) has been in full force.

I realize that my dreams are unique because no other individual can have my own background, emotions, or experience. And thus, my own dreams can only be connected to my own reality.

I just had to write down this very surreal dream of mine the other night while I still remember the details.

-------------------------------

The scene:

I was with my friends, and we were having this pep talk about ourselves in our living room. I was busy sharing some trivia about myself that I don't know. The interesting thing is, the trivia that I usually share are really true about myself. We were laughing, and one of my friends even said., "You know, you're a simple person."

------------------------------

The next thing I knew, I was on our living room, sitting next to Yunho (my favorite member in TVXQ). Our hands were clasped together, just like a couple. His face is very clear. I can clearly see his lovely eyes and smile, and from his hair, I am guessing that his look was from the Mirotic era. He was wearing a polo, while I was wearing a white dress--the one that you wear during summer.

The scene was so vivid, we were laughing together while holding each other's hand. Not so long after, it became quiet.

I know I am already half-awake that time because I can hear the sound of the vehicles outside our house. (We live beside a major highway, by the way)

I know I am about to wake up at any moment, but I tried not to.

-----------------------------

The last scene:

Yunho said, "I've been staring at you."

"Why?"

His eyes were suddenly filled with tears, so I hugged him.

He said, "What will I do to be the right guy for you?"

As I hugged him tight, I said, "Just stay who you are."

----------------------------

THAT LINE really struck me.

The noises are becoming louder, and I know I will wake up anytime soon.

Before I knew it, my eyes were open, and tears were flowing down from it. It's like I said goodbye to someone I love.

From the many dreams about TVXQ that I had, this dream is the only one I had the courage to write about. It feels so strange--so strange that it felt like the real thing.

Our conversations were so relaxed, so light-hearted. I felt truly loved that time. I know that this is close to impossible, but, how come it felt so real?

Am I looking for a guy like Yunho?
*shrugs head*

Late post is REALLY late. Screw work. XD

Note: This were the articles that I wrote for OneTVXQ's online magazine (TVXQWorld) for its April 2012 issue. I omitted the first paragraph coz it's the same paragraph with my post regarding Cassiopeia Philippines winning the Fanchant Battle last July 2011. ;)

The first one is regarding CassPH's 9th Gathering, the second one is about my DBSK Song of the Month, and third one is my DBSK Spring Photo of the Month~ ^^

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Keeping The Faith the Filipino Way

(1st paragraph omitted)

Cassiopeia Philippines (CassPH for brevity) is the premiere TVXQ/DSBK/Tohoshinki/JYJ fanclub in the Philippines which aims to unite TVXQ/DBSK/Tohoshinki/JYJ fans through various activities. The name “Cassiopeia Philippines” was given by Yunho when TVXQ came to the Philippines last January 2006 for the shoot of the Ramodo CF. (I was there~ Hooray for Jaejoong's awesome waistline). The fan club was formed in June 2006, and has been active in many KPOP-related events in the Philippines.

Last February 25, 2012, CassPH held it's 9th Gathering: The Red Room Exhibit (also called the 9G) at the Top Shelf of Fully Booked in Bonifacio High Street, Taguig. This article is more like of a fan account because I personally went there with my friends. ^^

Inspired by Bigeast's “The Omotesando”, CassPH presented TVXQ's discography in an exhibit-like manner. CassPH presented all the album jackets of TVXQ's Korean and Japanese albums from 2003 up to the present. My eyes had a feast over the massive display of the group's official merchandise, albums, singles, photobooks, fan goods, and magazines. My whole TVXQ collection wouldn't even reach ¼ of the collection on display. Posters plasted on the wall left the fans spazzing and ogling over their favorite member/s.

Our first stop was to attend a Private Film Screening of DBSK's best live performances in Japan and Korea, as well as a dose of JYJ's funny moments from their Come On Over DVD. While it is true that most of us had already watched these on our own, nothing beats the fun it brings while watching these with our fellow fans—spazzing and squealing to our hearts' content.

I was in nostalgia while looking at the big display commemorating DBSK's achievements as group from their debut in 2003. The Individual Corner is where fans got to see the member’s personal profiles and achievements; then there's The Drama Corner, where posters of the members’ journey as promising actors were put up and the Concerts Corner, which is a compilation of best scenes and moments captured from all 3 Asia Tours and 4 Live Tours, as well as a display of physical copies of concert DVDs and goods. This is indeed a proof of DBSK's hard work for the past years, and such were a proof of how successful they are not only in Korea, but in many parts of the world as well.

One more thing which I liked about the gathering is the Tohocafe. This small, cute shop in the corner of the exhibit area sold dongbang-nized cupcakes, cream puffs, cheesecakes, coffee and chocolate named after the members. You can enjoy these sweet treats beside DBSK's standees at the balcony. I personally loved the mini-cheesecakes, and even bought some for my family. :)

The Library was another favorite for me because some of my stuff were on display. Photobooks and magazines where DBSK are featured were all available for browsing.

The CassPh corner contained memorabilias such as tickets from past gatherings, fangoods and trophies the fanclub has won throughout the years. Media giants such as Myx Philippines and GMA were also present during the event.

With the help of PolyEast Records and Astroplus, CassPH presented the JYJ “In Heaven” album launch, where 300 imported copies of the said album’s black version were released. Each purchase also entitles the buyers a special JYJ t-shirt, drawstring bag, two posters and a notepad. This is such a nice treat because you get all of these items for a reasonable price.

When nighttime came, the speakers went on full volume as the epic Tohonight commenced, which is basically a party where Cassies danced the night away to non-stop DBSK/JYJ hits. The TohoBar also provided dongbang-nized cocktails and drinks for the party-loving people. This has to be my favorite part of the gathering because I got to unwind and dance with my friends and fellow Cassies. Everyone danced to the tune of Empty, Rising Sun, O-Jung Ban Hap, Intoxication, Checkmate, Choosey Lover (a club favorite), and the very fun Hi Ya Ya, where everyone sang and danced in unison. ^^

It was such a marvel to see how Filipino Cassies held on to their faith by participating in our fan club's activities despite all the issues being faced by DBSK. And again, this is is just one of the ways of showing to the whole KPOP fandom that Cassiopeia is STILL here, and will always be here for DBSK. Such faith will never falter until eternity.

Always keep the Faith!

DBSK Song of The Month: Tea for Two

The snow has finally subsided and the flowers started to bloom----the spring season is definitely here. Spring announces its arrival with white and yellow blossoms and by various festivals being celebrated around the world. Spectators can stroll along parks and enjoy the warm view amidst colorful and splendid flowers, and enjoy the cool breeze of the air.

Actually, I had three songs debating in mind for this issue's featured DBSK song, and after listening to them one by one again and again, I finally came up with “Tea for Two”. “Tea for Two” is part of Tohoshinki's 28th Japanese single “Stand By U”, which was released last July 01, 2009.

While “Stand By U” is a ballad, “Tea for Two” is a mid-tempo and upbeat song. It has a funky beat which makes your head move along to the music. The intro sounds like the birds humming—a cuckoo which sits in the leafy twig and sings her melody. A light breeze blows from the south and feels very pleasant. It is indeed a song perfect for relaxation.

The soothing voices of Tohoshinki gives off a relaxing vibe, and this is a song perfect for the spring season. The sound of the harmonica is indeed music to the ears. I really think this song would be more beautiful if this was performed live by the five of them. I actually imagined how the music will look like if ever one is released---the Tohoshinki guys sitting on a coffee shop, wearing laid-back and light-colored clothes, and of course, drinking tea. ^^

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

DBSK Spring Photo of the Month: Bonjour Paris

The Bonjour Paris era has to be one of my favorite TVXQ eras so I chose this as the Spring Photo of the Month. Their outfits here perfectly match the season and gives off a European vibe because of the plain-colored jackets, checkered polos, and shirts with large prints. The clothes were carefully selected so as to match TVXQ's laid-back personality. Their hairstyles are so perfect for their clothes as well.

THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY PROBLEM SINCE I BECAME A TVXQ FAN. HAHAHAHA

I've been swtiching biases like forever~

Changmin is actually my FIRST and ORIGINAL bias in TVXQ, way back when I became a fan of them in 2006~ He's way too adorable and cute and that scream in Rising Sun really hit me. XD

Surprisingly, although it was Jaejoong whom I first knew in TVXQ, he did not become my bias. (Okayyyyy the Bonjour Paris era is an exception~ My fave Jaejoong picture of all time was when they were in Paris)

Then Yunho came in the Mirotic era. I'm still rooting for Changmin in Mirotic coz he's just so super hot in the MV~ But yeah~ Yunho won, nonetheless. I immersed myself in tons of Yunho-related videos that time. XD Although HTTG is, should I say, a flop, I really adored his cuteness there. :)

Well~ the reason that I liked him was because of his attitude and fatherly-like figure~ prolly because I haven't seen my father for like, 3 years? Ugh. I can't remember the last time I saw him~

I remained loyal to Yunho~ and tried to shoo away temptation by the other members.

AND THEN I SAW DATING ON EARTH.

Oh God. Yoochun was just so totally the romantic guy that I have always imagined in my whole lifetime sjnzsckhfghgfksghfjghfsfdfdfsdfgsgfweeretraadafs

The 'Colors~ Melody and Harmony' era made me love Yoochun (and of course my top OTP, JaeChun) more~ BLAME IT ON HIS HAIR *____________*

It became a battle between Yunho and Yoochun eversince.

OKAY WAIT I DIED.

Sungkyunkwan Scandal came~ and literally rolled over the floor because of too much spazzing over Yoochun and his acting. TBH~ Yoochun was my least favorite before in TVXQ. But he was my bias when it comes to acting. /gets bricked

But now, he's my 2nd, ugh, 1.5? GAHHHHH

Anywayyyyyy~ there's this unexplainable reason why I really cannot overthrow Yunho away in the top spot. He remains to be my top bias up to this day.

I can have 2U as my top biases~ but Yunho will always be at the top spot. :))))))

Same jacket~ ^^

/OKAY LONG POST HAHAHAHA ^^

Okay, so here's something that I did for the October/November issue of TVXQWorld, the official online magazine of OneTVXQ. It's a song review of DBSK's  나의  (You're My Melody). ^^

-------------------------------------------

DBSK Song of the Month: 나의 (You’re My Melody)
By marzorie25 (Marj)

Hello there Cassies! I’m Marj, and I’m going to do a review of our DBSK Song of the Month for this issue of TVXQWorld. ^^

DBSK made a comeback to the Korean music scene after one year and 7 months of staying in Japan. Their Korean fans sorely missed them so this comeback album was so anticipated. Their fourth Korean album ‘Mirotic’ was released last September 2008, and as expected, it was a huge hit --- placing over 500,000 pre-orders in Korea alone.

From then on, Cassies have considered September as Mirotic month, and just a few weeks ago, we celebrated Mirotic day virtually by watching the Mirotic MV again, reliving the glory days, and spazzing to our hearts’ content.

For this issue, I am going to review one of the songs in the Mirotic album.  It’s 나의 (You’re My Melody). This has to be one of my favorite tracks from the album so I chose it to be the DBSK Song of the Month.

I fell in love the first time I heard of this song. I remember having a last song syndrome (LSS) of this song for about a month. The song starts off with a piano accompaniment, and then followed by DBSK’s voices and the instruments. It is a mid-tempo song, and it was sung by DBSK with so much ease.  Their voices blend so well; it’s as if I am being serenaded by the five of them. The bridge is very noticeable because here, we can hear Yunho belting out high notes – which he don’t usually do since he does the rapping most of the time. The song ends as DBSK go into acapella --- which is my favorite part of the song, because it shows the perfect harmony they exude whenever they do acapella.

Sad to say, they only performed this song once, and that was during the Fall Mini Concert last 2008. I really wish they could have sung it during the Mirotic Concert. I can say this is actually one of the underrated songs of DBSK in their Mirotic album.

The lyrics were just as beautiful as the melody and the artist who sang it --- to quote the chorus:

You’re my melody
I’ll perform for you (on and on)
You are my song
The soundtrack in my life
I love you
You lighted up the stage of my life
(I’ll sing it again) You’re my song

I have always borne in mind that this is DBSK’s song to Cassiopeia. DBSK will keep performing for their fans, which they have always considered as their family. I really love it how DBSK values Cassiopeia, and regard them as their 6th member.  Cassiopeia, in return, supports them in all their endeavors, and protects them against malicious remarks other might impute to DBSK.

This is the bond that no lawsuit can ever separate. *sobs*

Summing it up, this song is surely something that could lift you up whenever you feel like you’re giving up in the light of the lawsuit brouhaha --- just keep in mind that as long as there is DBSK, they are always ready to perform for you. That's enough reason for me to keep my faith to the five of them.

The day that changed the way Korean MVs were done is fast approaching. ♥

The sexiest song in KPOP was to be unleashed.

September 28, 2008.

It has been three years, but oh my God, it's as if everything just happened yesterday.

This.

This is one of the sweetest songs I've ever heard in my life...

...and also one of the saddest. T___T

Papa, I miss you. *cries*

Marry Your Daughter - Brian McKnight

Sir, I'm a bit nervous
About being here today
Still not real sure what I'm going to say
So bear with me please
If I take up too much of your time.
See in this box is a ring for your oldest.
She's my everything and all that I know is
It would be such a relief if I knew that we were on the same side
Cause very soon I'm hoping that I...

Could marry your daughter
And make her my wife
I want her to be the only girl that I love for the rest of my life
And give her the best of me 'til the day that I die, yeah
I'm gonna marry your princess
And make her my queen
She'll be the most beautiful girl that I've ever seen
I can't wait to smile
When she walks down the aisle
On the arm of her father
On the day that I marry your daughter
She's been here every step
Since the day that we met
(I'm scared to death to think of what would happen if she ever left)
So don't you ever worry about me ever treating her bad
I've got most of my vows done so far (So bring on the better or worse)
And 'til death do us part
There's no doubt in my mind
It's time
I'm ready to start
I swear to you with all of my heart...

I'm gonna marry your daughter
And make her my wife
I want her to be the only girl that I love for the rest of my life
And give her the best of me 'til the day that I die, yeah
I'm gonna marry your princess
And make her my queen
She'll be the most beautiful bride that I've ever seen
I can't wait to smile
As she walks down the aisle
On the arm of her father
On the day that I marry your daughter

The first time I saw her
I swear I knew that I'd say I do

I'm gonna marry your daughter
And make her my wife
I want her to be the only girl that I love for the rest of my life
And give her the best of me 'till the day that I die
I'm gonna marry your princess
And make her my queen
She'll be the most beautiful bride that I've ever seen
I can't wait to smile
As she walks down the aisle
On the arm of her father
On the day that I marry your daughter

As part of my morning routine, I would always play TVXQ songs upon waking up to awaken my senses and revitalize me. :)

Yesterday morning, I chose to put my Tohoshinki B-Side Collection CD on deck. Now for those who are wondering, the songs in the B-Side Collection are the other songs (the other one would be the title track, hence, the title of the single) in Tohoshinki's single albums, which were released in Japan. Currently, Tohoshinki has 30 Japanese singles, but only 12 songs were selected to be placed on the B-Side Collection CD.

To be honest, although I have been a fan of TVXQ for five years now, I haven't heard ALL of their songs. Maybe because it's just too many, or I just forgot to download them all. XD But anyway, whenever I have time, I would drop by DBSK Archives to download some audio and video stuff of TVXQ. As the name implies, DBSK Archives is the (unofficial) archive of anything related to TVXQ --- songs, videos, live performances, radio guestings, dramas, movies, lyrics, and pictures. If you are a new TVXQ fan, you can see here great and priceless downloads. ^^

Believe me, it never fails.

So there. I played the B-Side CD Collection, and while fixing my clothes, I stopped when Track 8 played.

Hana no iro kaze ni yurete
Bokura ni melody kureru you ni
Hikouki gumo nagame nagara
Gosenshi no youna, kono michi aruiteku
Utagoe mo nagareteru~

OH MY GOD YOOCHUN. That voice of yours just killed me.
/brb flailing/

My head bounced with the music, and that didn't stop until the song was finished. I repeated it for several times, with the same bouncy feeling within me.

I looked at the tracklist, and I saw the title:五線紙.

I was like: O_O What is this?

HOW COME I HAVEN'T HEARD OF THIS SONG EVER?

I played it again, and I finally absorbed the melody of the song. And yes, I instantly got addicted to it.

I asked my friends about the song, and they told me the title is Gosenshi (Music Sheet), and it was the other song off Tohoshinki's 11th Japanese single, Lovin' You.

OH MY WHY DID I DISCOVER IT JUST TODAY? *___________*
Fail fangirl is fail.

Here are the lyrics and the translations of the song:

TRANSLATION

Music Sheet

The colors of the flowers sway to the wind
Giving to us its melody
While watching the trail of vapor from an airplane
We walk this path like a music sheet
With our singing voices flowing

When in short-sleeves and in a lawn of a park
We're brought back as boys who soar through the sky

Hey, if someone starts running towards some place underneath the moon
Go and chase it right away; it's something that adults are hopeless with

Someday along with this song that we've been humming
Our feelings would pile-up into one
And while tomorrow's wind blows
We walk this path like a music sheet
With the blue sky continuing to stretch on

Even if the clouds change shape or even if the clouds don't and stay that way
Between that and us who carry on living, we would be somewhat alike, right?

More than the ones with me during those truly painful moments and those that joined me in sadness,
Those that were always waiting for me, who else other than them could all the more be my friends?

I'm thankful, because I met you
I continue remembering the power to succeed
We're not all alone, just one at a time
We walk this path like a music sheet
And you are by my side

Rap
1,2 microphone take
it's a dance time
turn it up to the rap
sound of my voice
music is my life it's a in my line
yo, break it break it down
my own your voice
rap on your beat
boom break it down
sing you boomtrack

Without doubt, even after 10 years still, nobody would understand
But if we come together immediately we'll be used to becoming boys in short sleeves (again)

The colors of the flowers sway to the wind
Giving to us its melody
While watching the trail of vapor from an airplane
We walk this path like a music sheet

Someday even this song, like candy,
Our feelings would harden into one
And while tomorrow's wind blows
We walk this path like a music sheet
With the blue sky continuing to stretch on

You are by my side
With our singing voices flowing

----------------------------------------

Now isn't it sweet? The song is so appealing, something that would really brighten up your day. The melody is so addictive, the vocal arrangement is excellent, and of course, the message is just so beautiful. *sigh*

A feel-good song--this is how I would describe it. Tohoshinki's voices blend so well with the beautiful arrangement of the song.

And now I realized how I effin' miss the five of them together. TT____TT

And oh, Yoochun's voice is just so.... Oh my God, I can't express it. It's just so... lovely. I just melted into a pool of water. ♥♥

A surprised and flabbergasted Yoochun after winning at the 2010 KBS Drama Awards.

Dating on Earth -- Oh my effin' God, this is where it all worsened.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah. Yoochun.

The smile.
The collarbones.
The forehead.
The smexy bedroom voice.
The songwriting abilities.
The knack at playing the piano.
The gibberish Chungrish.
The innocence.
The adorable Chunface.
The acting prowress.
The sweet and romantic guy.
The supportive brother.
The ahjumma magnet.

*sighs*

The only guy I would ditch Yunho for. :D

Favorite hair. Ever. Colors~Melody and Harmony era.

Wouldn't you love to have this guy as your classmate? ♥
foreverfive: junsu rawr (pic#762988)

Today marks the 20th birthday of one of my bestest guy friends in the planet. Drum roll please....

~Leo Almelor~

He is the self-proclaimed number 1 fanboy of Junsu here in the Philippines. ^^

He is also wicked sick when it comes to dancing. Everyone knows that.

He's also a certified earth and animal warrior.

And of course, he's one of the sweetest guys around. :)

Happy birthday my dear friend! Another year was added was your age, which means next month, I'll be older by another year too. BOO. Anyway, I've greeted you blahblah times already, but I will never get tired of thanking you for all the memories that we've shared in the past.

Let's continue making good memories, okay?

Wee Junsu's got a cake for you ^^

And there's some Yoosu lovin' for you!! ^^

Junsu and the rest of DBSK loves you. You know that. ^^

foreverfive: jang woo hyuk (pic#924155)

For the past few days, there is only one song playing in my head, and believe me, it's not a TVXQ song---which is usually the case.

Well, I can say that it's somehow related to TVXQ, at least.

It's Jang Woo Hyuk's comeback song after 5 years, Time is [L]over, taken from his album I Am the Future. (Whoaaa the album name rings a bell---H.O.T.'s song We Are the Future ^^)

Now in case some of you don't know, Jang Woo Hyuk is 1/5 of the 90's super boy group H.O.T. (High-five of Teenagers) Yes. I say super boy group. It's safe to say that they are one of TVXQ's predecessors---the other one being Shinhwa.

H.O.T.
Clockwise: Moon Hee Joon, Lee Jae Won, Kangta, Tony An, Jang Woo Hyuk (seated)

H.O.T is composed of Jang Woo Hyuk, Kangta, Tony An, Moon Hee Joon, and  Lee Jae Won. They are the ones responsible for the hits Candy, We Are the Future, and Full of Happiness, which Super Junior did a remake in 2007.

This is so like TVXQ's Balloons in 2006 ♥

I was in Grade 2 when H.O.T. debuted, but I was already in my 4th grade when I first heard of their name. That was around year 1998. They broke up in 2001 and decided to pursue solo careers. Kangta and Hee Joon remained with SM Entertainment, while Woo Hyuk, Tony An, and Jae Won formed the trio JTL.

WAIT. 2 remained in SM, and 3 formed another group? SOUNDS FAMILIAR.

Okay enough of the paranoia. I'm here to talk about my favorite song at the moment.

------------------------------------------------------------

Jang Woo Hyuk is regarded as the dancing king of KPOP, so many KPOP idols of today, among with them is Super Junior's Eunhyuk, look up to him as an inspiration. Now that I've mentioned it, Eunhyuk kinda looks like Woo Hyuk, isn't it? ^^ This is an undisputed fact, because Jang Woo Hyuk is famous for his waving and popping skills, and you cannot help but be swept away by his unique body coordination. *_________*

Anyway, he is one of my biases in H.O.T., the other one being Kangta. Kangta remained at SM Entertainment until now, and Woo Hyuk has been running a dance academy for a few years already. I'd like to enroll there if I had money! ^^

------------------------------------------------------------

When I saw his comeback stage a few months ago, my jaw dropped----the dance moves are so unbelievable. He never lost his flair in dancing! And god, he looked so younger today!! *______________________*

This is Jang Woo Hyuk during days as a member of H.O.T. Blond hair + shades FTW!

This is Jang Woo Hyuk today, as seen from the MV of Time is [L]over.

*meltsssssssssssss*

WOULD YOU BELIEVE THIS GUY'S 33 YEARS OLD??? fjfjkjfjfgjgfjg

I remember asking the same question when I saw Tony An when he made a comeback. XD

------------------------------------------------------

I instantly got addicted to the song The Time is [L]over. The melody is so catchy, and it sounded so futuristic. Woo Hyuk's signature rapping is still evident, and once you hear the song, you will definitely get addicted to it. It has been playing in my phone for xxxxxxx times already. The ticking sound of the clock adds drama to the song, and it's so upbeat---something you could enjoy in the summer. ^^

H.O.T. after Lee Jae Won's (the maknae) discharge from the military.
From left: Kangta, Hee Joon, Jae Won, Woo Hyuk, Tony.
They all look younger here!! ♥♥

I am definitely looking forward to hear more of Jang Woo Hyuk, and probably, a possible reunion of H.O.T. in the near future. ^^
foreverfive: yoochun faith (pic#762982)

Affirmative.

Being a fan entails a lot of responsibility --- basically, the fans are the ones who make or break the group. They cheer to the top of their lungs, buy their merchandise, and protect them from insidious remarks others may impute to their idols. They are their idols' army and their first line of defense. The fans are those people who ardently support any person or group to some extent of forgetting that they have their own needs too.

Yesterday, July 31, 2011, was an epic day for TVXQ's Filipino fans, also known as Cassiopeia Philippines because they once again proved that Cassiopeia is STILL here when they emerged as Champions in the 2nd Annual KPOP and Culture Fest Fanchant Battle, held at the SM Megamall.

Let me share to you my experience being a member of Cassiopeia Philippines' Pep Squad, which I consider to be one of the best decisions I made in my life. ;)

-------------------------------------

Starting to Dance for TVXQ

Although I loved dancing during my elementary days, I can never really consider myself as a good dancer. I really wanted to join dance contests before, but since I was afraid that I might mess up on stage, I just dumped such idea.

It was TVXQ who made me return to dancing after 9 years. I was so damn amazed on how they executed their dance routines --- it was so clean and coordinated. Aside from the fact that my bias, UKnow Yunho is their lead dancer, I have always wanted to learn their dance moves since the day I first saw the Rising Sun MV in 2006. It would be good if I had learned the Rising Sun choreography in 2006, but due to my uber-busy-academic life (yes, I was a good student before :P), I didn't had the chance to learn it.

4 years later, in 2010, when CassPH organized a flash mob (a group of people coordinated to meet and perform some predetermined action at a particular place and time and then disperse quickly), I quickly signed up to be one of its dancers. We performed last July 04, 2010 at the SM Mall of Asia grounds. Incidentally, it was the anniversary of TVXQ's The Secret Code Concert at Tokyo Dome. :) I was proud that time, but never did I know that things will get better soon.

I also got the opportunity to manage TVXQute, a five-member all-male dance group covering TVXQ's dance hits. The members are my best guy buds from the fandom, and I am so happy I got to learn the dances as well whenever I attend their practice. I really admire these five guys because of their dedication to TVXQ, and yes, proud manager is proud when they were applauded during CassPH's 8G (see earlier posts) last May 07, 2011.

Three of the members of TVXQute: JP, Leo, Jeff ♥

Last December 11, 2010, we were summoned again to repeat the flash mob at the 2nd KPOP Convention at the PICC forum. There was greater pressure this time, because there were a lot more people in that event than in the MoA flash mob. At 12: 26pm (yes, we coincided it with TVXQ's debut, which was December 26), we started the flash mob. One by one, we gathered at the middle of the PICC forum and danced our hearts out. Many people were surprised, and people converged around to watch us dance. The flash mob was well-received, and again, I became proud as a Cassie.

----------------------------------

June 2011.

I got this secret invitation from Gielyn, asking if I want to dance for TVXQ, and without any further explanation from her, I agreed. Then I learned that CassPH will be joining the KFest FC Fanchant Battle. Pressure's on us because with TVXQ's hiatus as a group, and with the popularity of other groups, we were afraid that a few Cassies will come to cheer for us, and for TVXQ.

Practices last June had a rough start, because most of us were unavailable during Saturday because of school stuff. For the record, we were never complete during practices, so it was kinda hard filling in the place of those who were absent.

For 6 weekends, we practiced our routine, and as July 31 comes close, we even felt more pressure because last year's champion, Triple S Philippines (SS501) decided to join in the battle --- alongside Soshified Philippines (Girls' Generation), and I Heart Big Bang (Big Bang). My cramps, which has been my problem since time immemorial came back --- worse than I expected, because every Sunday morning, I woke up writhing in pain, making me unable to dance well during practices because my right leg freakin' hurts. I felt so useless that time, because while the others danced their hearts out during practice, I pretended I was okay and danced as if nothing happened to my legs. Deep inside, I was already screaming in pain. I did not tell them the full details of my injury because I don't want them to worry about me.

July 31, 2011.

The day has finally come. We brought the props we prepared, which included our personalized shirts with the captions: I love/dance TVXQ, and an uber-cool gloves with nice red LED lights which form the Cassiopeia constellation, courtesy of the uber-creative minds of Ate Barbie and Ate Joanne. When we saw the people enter the Megatrade Hall, I kept wondering, "Will they cheer for us?" That question will be answered later on.

The uber-cool gloves with LED lights, as worn here by Gielyn ;)

For the first time, we were complete yesterday, and to my surprise, the boosters gathered the Cassies they saw to teach the fanchants. I was in awe when I saw many people in red shirts gathered inside our practice area. ♥ We practiced for a few times, and taught each other the fanchants, and usual, we all goofed around each other, spazzing about our 5 boys. The TVXQ tarp that CassPH owned was even raped. XD

See? I told you. :) /brb flailing over 2U ksdgfjgfgf

Goofing around with Leo, who is trying his best to wink XD...

...and JP. :D

Hooray for Team Hogwarts ♥
From left: JP, Nerii, Jeff, Marj, Leo

Gielyn, Ate Joanne, Eri, Lyn, Angel, and Marlisse chillin' around.

Linh and Berna, two of the CassPH cores. ;)

Ron, one of the CassPH cores, with JP. :D

We had one last practice, changed into our flaming red TVXQ shirts, gathered for some photo-ops c/o Eka, the official photographer of CassPH ♥, and prayed that whatever happens, the Lord may guide us as we perform, and everything that we do is for the glory of the 5 boys we deeply love.

CassPH, fighting!! ♥

Foolin' around before the performance :)

Performance time

When I went up the stage, I was full of pride and determination
. Ang yabang kong umakyat sa stage. I want to prove to the antis that Cassiopeia is still fuckin' here, supporting our OT5. Yes I was nervous, but that didn't deter me from keeping my head up high.

The music had started, and hell yeah we danced like there was no tomorrow. I was shocked when I saw the audience applauding and shouting. Call me arrogant, but Cassies owned that moment! I shouted to the top of my lungs, "JUNSU JAEJOONG CHANGMIN YUNHO YOOCHUN ALWAYS FIVE!!!!" I didn't care what would happen next, and I didn't care whether or not I'll get sore throat and thus render me incapacitated to talk to my students the next day. I just want to show my love for TVXQ that time. They gave such a huge impact in my life, and I felt that dancing and cheering for them was one way to show my gratitude to them. We danced, we shouted, we cheered.

We want to show the whole KPOP community how proud we are to be the MIGHTY CASSIOPEIA.

We were met by thunderous screams and applauses from the audience, and we were still in a state of shock. We were so damn proud of what we did. Then we gathered together and cried in each others' arms. The feeling was so unexplainable, and I could just say that it was so overwhelming. As I write this blog, I am crying again because everytime I remember our performance, I just can't help but tear up and remember the feeling.

Consoling each other after the performance. I can clearly see my tears. *_* Hey Ate B and Cherry, why are you looking at me and JP?

Another photo-op after the performance (and the crying too.)

THOSE 4 MINUTES WILL DEFINITELY BE REMEMBERED FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.

We really didn't care about winning, because all we wanted to do is show the world how we love TVXQ.

While walking around after our performance, some people whom I don't know came up and congratulated me for our performance. I endlessly smiled and thanked them. I even overheard from a non-TVXQ fan, "I can feel the pain of Cassiopeia." HELL  I WANTED TO CRY AGAIN THAT MOMENT. Yes. Being a Cassie is so painful, and yet, so fulfilling.

What I loved most about CassPH is the unity they exemplify. The red ocean yesterday sat down, spazzed, and ate together. (BTW thank you so much CassPH core for the food ♥♥♥) It was really a heartwarming scene to see Cassies converged together in one place. Let's paint the town red was the tagline yesterday. ;)

We waited for the announcement of the winners, and yes, WE MADE IT! CASSIOPEIA PHILIPPINES IS THE CHAMPION! We rushed onstage, hugged each other, and bowed to the audience who supported us earlier. For one last time, we shouted, "XIAH JUNSU, YOUNGWOONG JAEJOONG, CHOIKANG CHANGMIN, UKNOW YUNHO, MICKY YOOCHUN, SARANGHAEYO HAMKAEHAEYO DONG BANG SHIN KI!!" And then we cried again in each others' arms.

WE EFFIN MADE DONG BANG SHIN KI PROUD!!

Cassiopeia Philippines will always be one of the best orgs I've ever joined to in my life. No words can explain how grateful I am to be a part of this wonderful FAMILY. Unity in times of adversity. That's the Cassiopeia spirit. ♥

WE'RE STILL HERE, AND CASSIOPEIA WILL FOREVER WILL BE HERE FOR DONG BANG SHIN KI!!

Cassiopeia let us set up our world,
Till the end of time we'll light Dong Bang Shin Ki's way,
Always keep the faith,
Keep on holding on and hope to the very end~
Higher will be our progression,
Pearl red lights keep shining on~ Forever,
JUNSU JAEJOONG CHANGMIN YUNHO YOOCHUN
ALWAYS FIVE!!

ALWAYS KEEP THE FAITH!

Cassie in life and in death,
Marj ♥

Note: Ironically speaking, yesterday, July 31, 2011, was the second anniversary of JYJ filing the lawsuit against SM Entertainment.

I got to meet again my beloved OYSTER-MATES JP and Leo yesterday!! *jumps around happily*

Deym I totally missed those two bigtime! :D
I owe them my osm vacaton this year.

As usual we did our old routine~ laughing our heads off, eating like a pig, and going to church.

UKnow what, these two guys totally rock my socks. They're like... two of the bestest guys I've ever crossed paths with. *winks*
Their impact on me is soooooo unprintable. Trolololol ♥

I can't believe it's already July.
I can't even believe the lower half of the year already commenced.

It's as if yesterday, I was only writing my Resolutions for 2011.

Time really flies so fast.

-------------------------------------------------------

The first TVXQ picture I saw in 2006. Story to be dished out later on. :)

The month of July has always been special to me because it's my anniversary month with TVXQ, more so this year because I am celebrating my fifth year as a Cassiopeia. ♥

I am so nostalgic right now, I can't believe it's been five years since I started fangirling (the word fangirling wasn't even invented back then) for TVXQ.

On the next few days, I will be telling stories about how I came to know TVXQ--and how my love for them progressed through the years. :D

Forever keeping the faith,
Marj ♥

Say goodbye to the Western hotties and welcome Asia's finest.

I virtually fell in love with Korea since the day I started watching Rain and Song Hye Kyo's Full House---in 2004, that is. Well, technically, this whole Asian madness was triggered by my addiction to Taiwan's Meteor Garden.

That explains the reason why Vic Zhou is here. :)

Okay so this was supposed to be 50, but I only came up with 29 Koreans + 1 Taiwanese. XD
So yeah. Here it goes.

1. Jung Yunho

DBSK's effervescent leader and undisputed dancing king is at the top of my list. He swept me away with his awesome leadership skills --- which was something I did not have back in the days. I really admire his humility and genuine kindness to everyone.
His dancing skills were also one of the best I've ever seen. He always goofs around like a child, but when it's business, he means business. He always makes sure that he gives his best during performances, to the extent of even performing even if he's sick, or even if he has an injury. And the manboobs were a plus. :P

2. Park Yoochun

He is the only guy who can make me betray Yunho. There were times when I literally rolled on the floor because I overflailed for him. TVXQ's resident dandy boy wowed me with his ever-amiable face---who could resist that heavenly smile of his? Add his sexy bedroom voice + collarbones + acting prowress + songwriting skills + chungrish + chunface. Total romantic guy package.

3. Kim Jaejoong

The man born with two sexes
comes in third place. Kim Jaejoong, the default favorite member in TVXQ was the 1st guy I noticed when I first came across the group in 2006. When I first saw him, I gasped because he was sooooo beautiful. I admit it, I got insecured by his beauty. (Well, who didn't?) I even thought he was the leader because he was always in the middle during photo-ops. His voice is one of the most beautiful I've ever heard.

4. Shim Changmin

TVXQ's evil maknae and refrigerator king comes fourth in this list. I fell in love with him when Mirotic's MV first aired in 2008. GAADDD he was so hot in that water scene. And who could ever forget that sonic scream in Rising Sun, Mirotic, and Why (Keep Your Head Down)? His bullying skills are also one of the best I've seen. ;)

5. Kim Junsu

Last but not the least, Junsu the pseudo-maknae never fails to make me smile becasue of his eungkyangkyang and oyaji gags. He's like an innocent child waiting for his playmates. That picture itself is so squishy-worthy. But what makes him special is his drastic transformation onstage during performances. :)

LOL DBSK will forever be the top 5~

6. Park Yoohwan (Yoochun's Brother)

Yoochun's equally charming brother comes at 6th place. Following the steps of Yoochun, he recently debuted as an actor. What I admire most about him is that he did not take advantage of his brother's popularity and decided to make a name of his own. And oh, I really love he fact that he and Yoochun got the same AKTF tattoos. ♥ Talk about brotherly love. Well, it won't be long until he engraves his name as one of Korea's new generation of actions.

7. Yoo Ah In (Sungkyungkwan Scandal)

Sungkyunkwan University's bad boy Geol Oh makes it to the top10 list. Yoo Ah In was just perfect as Moon Jae Shin in the drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal. Yoo Ah In's transformation from an innocent guy in He Who Can't Marry to a rebellious punk in Sungkyunkwan Scandal is truly a commendable one. His charm is so irresistable, and I wouldn't mind being shot by his love arrow.

8. Yoon Shi Yoon (The Baker King)

Korea's new sweetheart Yoon Si Yoon hit it bigtime via the hit drama The Baker King. We all cried along with him and the sufferings he underwent in the drama. With that acting skills, I know he will go a long way.

9. Seungri - Big Bang

KPOP's original Panda and Yunho's kababayan in Gwangju is at 9th place. Seungri's goofiness and unique dancing skills made me fall over heels for him. He's my original bias in Big Bang.

10. Doojoon - B2ST

Just like Yunho, I admire Doojoon's leadership skill in B2ST~  One of the best I've seen as well. And yes, just look at those piercing eyes of his. *_*

11. Minho - SHINee

Flaming charisma really stood up to his name. With his superb rapping skill and wit, he has captured the hearts of many noonas. Come to noonaaaaa!! :D

12. Song Joong Ki (Sungkyunkwan Scandal)

Yoo Ah In's other half in Syngkyunkwan Scandal is indeed a girl magnet. The monicker Yeorim really fits him. This actor + model + host will surely go places with his irresistable charm. Have you seen him wink? You'll surely die. :)

13. Vic Zhou (Meteor Garden)

And now here comes the only non-Korean in the list. My admiration for Vic Zhou traces back to 2003, when the Meteor Garden madness hit the Philippine shores. That was he and fellow F4 members Jerry Yan, Ken Zhu, and Vanness Wu. These guys became a household and the mania spread like wildfire. Who would have thought that he just accompanied his friend to audition for Hua Ze Lei's role, and he ended up getting the role instead? ;) His innocence and charm really turned me  on. I've got a secret: His poster in our room is already 8years old :D

14. Onew - SHINee

Onew is the third leader of an idol group in my list. He is known to break walnuts with his fingers---something which is really hard to do. When I saw him in person last 2009, I almost fainted when he smiled. Heaven. :P

15. Taemin - SHINee

SHINee's lead dancer and maknae Taemin makes it at number 15. Man, I have to say, this kid is wicked sick at dancing!! :)

16. Song Seung Hun (Autumn in My Heart)

17. Taecyeon - 2PM

18. Donghae - Super Junior

19. No Min Woo - former member, Trax

20. Kim Jeong Hoon (Goong)

21. Kim Soohyun (Dream High)

22. Joo Ji Hoon (Goong)

23. Rain

24. Kangta - H.O.T.

25. Dongwan - Shinhwa

26. Hyun Bin (Secret Garden)

27. Bae Yong Joon (Winter Sonata)

28. Hoyoung - g.o.d.

29. Seo Do Young (Spring Waltz)

30. Kwon Sang Woo (Stairway to Heaven)

note: captions for each to follow ^^ Will take a power nap first :)

foreverfive: cute changmin (pic#762989)

So yeah. Summer's officially over.

Deal with it.

Most of us (yes, I still call myself a student) were saddened by this fact (say hello to the intoxicating schoolworks + nasty professors + bitchy classmates), while others jubiliated because it's back to school--and that means allowance again.

Now this is important for fan girls because with all the KPOP merch, events, and concerts everywhere, kulang na lang eh magbenta sila ng kidney masustentuhan lang ang fangirling life.

Before I rant over my failed law school carrer, I'd like to give an ode to one of my best summer vacations ever.

~UBErnight at Leo's condo unit~

So here's the separate story that I've been talking about in my previous post. I am devoting a space for this one because this is indeed one of the most unforgettable things that happened to my life recently.

Not many people know that I had a conflict with some people in my UBE barkada last April, until the 8G of CassPH last May 07. We weren't in good terms because of some incident that happened on our supposed-to-be good stay in Laguna. Eventually, we gave each other the silent treatment, and in the long run, we drifted apart from each other for quite sometime. It has taken a toll on me because I was not able to work well for weeks, resulting in a poor result in my monthly evaluation. ><

Leo, for his part, the good person that he is, really wanted this sleepover to push through, because he wanted this issue to be fixed--before it gets worse. I really commend this guy for being one the neutralizers in the group. ^^ He never fails with his heroic acts--not only to the animals, but also to people.

The night before the 8G, he said to me while walking back to his apartment from Starbucks and Wendy's, "I'm doing this especially for you."

So much for the butterflies rejoicing in my stomach.
But yeah, I just smiled.

Admit it.
That was really sweet.

I am the type of person who does not speak much, and I don't usually confront people. Whenever I did something wrong, I admit it, then shut up. That's why when some of them told me that they will talk to me, I just agreed, but I told them that I won't explain myself anymore.

It's spilled milk anyway.

So much irony for a law student like me who's destined to confront criminals and culprits in the future.

So there. If you were with us that night, you can really feel the tension between me and them. Like there was some unknown force pulling us apart. While we were heading back to the condo unit after we ate at McDonalds, I was really quiet the whole time. I just had my headset on and listening to music. BTW, I was about to get hit by the car that sped past before me. Thank God luck was created.

The moment we had returned, I went straight to the fire exit and prepared myself for the worst that could happen. I kept on mumbling to myself--"I had nothing to say."  while listening to music through my headset.

Really. I really had nothing to say. Bahala na.

JP and Leo went out and saw me teary-eyed. JP hugged me and offered me his hanky. They were just beside me, patting my back, and ready to catch me if I break down. I suddenly felt blessed for having these two guys beside me all the time, alongside Jeff--they were my constant companions during the time I was under fire.

Suddenly, Leo turned me around (My back was facing them, btw) and hugged me.

I was like *______________________* for God knows how long.

I was too dumbfounded to react--I wasn't even able to hug him back. All I did was to cry.

For a moment, and for some unexplainable reason, the world seemed to stop, and all I can hear is his voice whispering something in my ear. Tears endlessly rolled down on my cheeks as I listened to every word that he said. Now I know many of you will call this a cliche, but that was a first for me.

At my age, I know I shouldn't be feeling this... but I felt really loved that time.
No guy has ever done those for me--not even my best friend, who was also a guy.

Anyway, after that, I suddenly found the strength to let go of my foolish pride, and talked to the people whom I don't want to lose.

Well, it's all water under the bridge now, as the saying goes.

We had a forum, and some spoke up about the current situation. I commend those who spoke up and offered solutions to the problems. Well, problems are inevitable in any group, and I know for a fact that UBE won't let these problems eat them up. One thing that I love about this group is that it's like we've known each other forever, and yet, we are still surprised whenever we discover something about someone. I consider myself really lucky to have these people as my friends. They are the reason why I stayed away from the vices which I used to do in college. :) I was a real bitch back them--I may not look like one, but I've got a bitchy attitude. I drink a lot (when I drink, I drink until I pass out), and party a lot, and got myself into many catfights. XD

Well, I think it's safe to say that I can call them my life savers. ♥

Among my lots of circles of friends, this group is very special to me, just like my HS barkada. Actually, UBE is like the reincarnation of my 8-year old HS barkada, except for the fact that my HS buddies are not KPOP fans~The special bond that we share is something that is unbreakable--like our love for Dong Bang Shin Ki. I had my fair share of rants over my college barkada, that's why they're not that special to me. (betch mode XD)

The next day, we left Leo's unit with a smile.
What a meaningful night it was, indeed.

I will forever be thankful for what Leo did for me.
He knows that.

I love you UBE
. ♥
It really stood up for its name.

Summer's Last Hurrah part 2 coming up ^^

PS: And what's with the background music?
Yes, that was song being played on my player when Leo hugged me.
